OK, to be able to communicate we need the same understanding of each others language, as defined in the Oxford Dictionary of the English Language if you like. But if we talk about Pipeing I'd prefere "The Book". So my suggestion to take '4' as a word results from my somewhat technical point of view. BTW, mentioned someone in this thread already that (IIRC) you may tell pipe which digits to use as word-separators? But, can we _exclude_ common separators like blank and dots etc. too? If not, masking with not-word-separating digits not used in input may help.
