The Piper is enjoying a short break that he urgently needed. I have given him a lot of trouble while he did the structure stuff. This example seems to be just pipe dream and not actually working or at least incomplete. Records go through the "first reading" first and then through the "second reading" - so once the run-in cycle is done, the "second reading" holds the first record, and the "first reading" holds the second record of your stream. In that sense, the definition of delta() conforms the Principle of Least Astonishment. PS And yes, I was a bit confused about this too since I had originally coded them wrong too.
