Other remark: you even don't need to use counter 0. Usually counters are
used to sum things spanning multiple records. You could code
'| spec a: 1.8 1 b: w2 . c: w3 .',
'print b+c picture zzzz9 11',
And, as was suggested, I debug things alike by printing the intermediate
things too, so:
'| spec a: 1.8 1 b: w2 . c: w3 .',
'print b+c picture zzzz9 11 print b 25 print c 40'',
