I tried SMSG but now I see why that didn't work. I had to get SET SMSG IUCV in the exec instead of MSG IUCV. Changed to SMSG IUCV and now I can use SMSG MONWRITE STOP instead of MSG.

You may find an action routine in PROP to set back SECUSER when someone made himself secondary console of OPERATOR and thus avoid proper operation (unless that got changed in the past 15 years :-) I think z/VM fixed it by adding more of the useful function in the OBSERVER feature. But it would be simple to change this server it to accept SMSG. Rob
