Sometimes people find their pipeline break, switch back and find it still does not work, and forget about what else they fixed to make it work. The very few incompatible differences are documented very clearly, and rarely hurt. If your pipeline works with CMS Indoor Plumbing, it should not be hard to make it work with Plastic Pipes too. It might be worth a requirement to see whether IBM could put in that effort, or at least make it APARable when things actually break. The pickpipe approach is effective in that you can write your code to exploit the latest goodies, and leave the IBM services alone. It would be nice if IBM could at least ship z/VM with a current version with pickpipe for those who are download challenged. Rob
