I have a file that contains records that look like this: Header f1 f2 f3 ... fn
Where fn is a number and there are a variable number of fn fields, anywhere from 1 to a few hundred. There is a guarantee that each record will have at least 1 of the fn fields and that all fields after the header are numbers to be included in the sum.. Is there any good pipe solution for transforming these records to "Header sum" where sum is the total of all of the fn fields in the original record? Header is a fixed length, so the location of first numeric field is known.. Regards, Richard Schuh
