I do use DIGEST MD5, and include the checksums with products, and suggest to customers that they can verify them with the Marist Runtime. But that's optional; not a required step in installation.

Again, minimalist; change the filetype and add "address COMMAND" at the top; it remains largely procedural. But now I can code an "addpipe" whereever that's overwhelmingly the best approach.
