As I did not find a way to make CHOP to chop at the last occurrence of a tab character, I used SPECS instead: 'PIPE(sep ! end ?) <' in_file_ID, '!a:spec f1;-2 1 x05 n write outstream 1 f-1 1', '!b:juxtapose', '! >' out_file_ID, '?a:!split ,!strip!b:' because following did not give the expected result: 'PIPE(sep ! end ?) <' in_file_ID, '! reverse', '!a:not chop x05', '! reverse', '!b:juxtapose', '! >' out_file_ID, '?a: '! reverse', '! split ,!strip!b:' Lessons learned: "NOT does not add delay." As such it does not change the 'record flow', it inverts only the streams. A COPY would have done the trick too, but I felt more secure with SPECS. Ciao.....Mike Mit Alstom die Umwelt schützen.
