But you can't create such files with pipelines stages.
And it may be difficult to test for the nonexistence
of a file with a mixed case name.  An "ASIS" option on
disk-related stages would be useful for this.

Bravo!  (I recall in the Bad Old Days one command whose
messages could not be captured nor suppressed with PIPE.
It's better now.)

Is it possible to capture in a pipeline error messages
issued by CALLPIPE?

Is it possible, within a Rexx stage, to direct output
from the Rexx TRACE instruction to other than the console?
(I know how to cheat to do this in Rexx under z/OS Unix.)
