Sorry for my delayed response. Currently c.0 is only 4, but I could use it for 
something else too where c.0 will be about 14k.
The last days (sick at home) I did as finger exercise a Sieve of Eratosthenes 
_only_ with PIPE. And I had to learn: REXX is faster. In this case, I assume.

Probably depends on how big c.0 is.

Personally I freely mix rexx and pipelines in my code choosing what I perceive 
to be as the best tool for the job.  If /I/ wanted to make that run faster, I'd 
probably just compile the exec rather than recode.
