The cons/term stage is 3215 line mode. In the conversion to 3270, CP strips most of the 3215 control characters. You can influence 0x40-0xFE by using START FIELD sequences. In fact, you can kind of muck up your display if you send just the wrong sequence of characters < 0x40. 0x40-0xFE is further controlled by CP TERMINAL TEXT and CP TERMINAL APL settings. CP does not assume a particular code page. Browse, on the other hand, is full screen. Be careful what kind of data < 0x40 you send to pipelines full screen stages. It's your 3270 data stream. Note that it provide TERMCODEPAGE and DATACODEPAGE so that it can translate correctly.
