I was looking into this Wordpress theme:

Which is a full featured CMS system. However, the developer has a thing for table-based design and purposely introduced a basic table to the layout. It wouldn't take too much time to go through the set-up and remove the tables.

I just completed a re-design of my site, www.tdrake.net, and can vouch for the ease of creating a new wordpress template. I set up a page in flat html
and then took bits and pieces of various themes to build a new one.

Good luck, ride the Wordpress wave.

On an aside, dreamhost has an amazing deal for new customers. Sign up for
the one year pre-paid deal and use the offer code: 777. It's their 7th
anniversary sale. You get full hosting for a year for $9. This also includes registering a new domain if you desire. They include wordpress installation
with one click.

Subject: Re: [WSG CMS] Using WordPress as CMS

I don't know much about WP as a good CMS, haven't had much time to
look into it, but I currently use MovableType ( http://
movabletype.org ), it's not exactly free (although there is a limited
free one, but you can only have like one author and 3 'blogs'), it
also isn't entirely PHP, it uses a good amount of Perl. So I'm not
sure it's what your looking for, but you should definitely look at
it, cause the code it outputs is 99.99% controlled by the author, it
template system is great, and with the right configuration it can do
anything, almost. Plus the next version, due out by the end of the
month I think, looks to be extremely powerful, and can probably do
more than the current version. Haven't had time to play with their
public beta yet either, although I plan on doing so this week.

Hi,

Does anyone have detailed info on using WordPress as a CMS, or a
lead on a good php CMS that I can use for an existing design?
