Hello all,

is there a way to get rid of the "d"s and the "f"s when format (~a or
~f) prints doubles and floats? Setting *read-default-float-format* to
'double-float helps, since doubles are printed properly (i.e., with
"e"s), but simple floats are printed with "f"'s.

The problem is that foreign software doesn't like floats printed with
"f"s or "d"s instead of the *common* "e"s (e.g., gnuplot).

Cheers,

Rodrigo
