Gentlepeople,

It's been over a year since the release of 19d, so now it's time for a
19e release.

19e-pre1 should be available in about a week or two. (I'll announce
that when it happens.) The 19e branch is ready now. The branch is
release-19e-branch.

Here is what needs to happen for the 19e-pre1 release:

o Update documentation (mostly done, I think)
o Get the compact-info-environment fix in.
o Work around (or fix) an issue with tracing on x86/darwin.
(Currently, this means using encapsulation for tracing.)
o Decide if cmucl should force the vmlimit to the max instead of just
  honoring the soft vm limit.
o Any other outstanding critical showstopper issues.

I hope people will do test the 19e-pre1 release. With some luck, we
will only need the 19e-pre1 release before the final 19e.

Thanks to everyone who continues to use cmucl.

Ray

CMUCL is not dead, it just smells funny.
(with apologies to Edi Weitz.)
