I have narrowed it down some more. It seems to have little to do with FreeBSD or the net load or cmucl I can recreate it on Linux with # run screen, and detach % screen -m -d # re-attach to screen % screen -r # run cmucl % cmucl18c ;; now BACKSPACE wipes the whole line, and DELETE deletes one char ;; and yes, 'cat' behaves the same way as cmucl, but ;; 'tcsh' behaves as expected So this looks like a quirk in screen, not cmucl, and only when one reattaches to a detached terminal started with 'screen -m -d' I thought it was a cmucl bug because I ran only cmucl like this. Weird, but not a problem for the cmucl maintainers, apparently. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
