Thanks to Fred for telling me to check this little thing called an INSERT key (it's not used to toggle insert/overwriting of text). I can select some text in Emacs and use INSERT to paste it but this doesn't work from Mozilla, Galeon, etc. I've realised that I need to use xcutsel to manually "copy PRIMARY to 0" each time. It's been a long time since I've needed to use that application! Regards, Adam
