CMUCL is unfortunately rather unfriendly when you exhaust the heap;
you will likely see a complaint from the garbage collector, then it
will abort. It is possible to increase the maximum size of the lisp
heap (up to around 1.6GB from the default of 512MB on x86 platforms,
IIRC) -- see question 14 of the CMUCL FAQ.
