Thanks.  I had no idea there was so much stuff out there.
Most of these seem to have last-modified dates around 1995.
Part of the problem could be a social one: few GUIs to have
acquired a large enough user base to continue being
improved and maintained.  

I managed to get McCLIM to work under CMUCL, but only after doing 
(setf *print-case* :downcase).   It seems to work, though
it is incomplete, a bit sluggish, and seems to get
muddled about the state of multiprocessing when an application
get killed.  But I think the facts that there is an active and
helpful development group and that it is more or less a standard 
will give this one a bit more longevity than the others.
