I think the primary consideration should be what will be the
experience of users who are (1) trying examples (especially from
a book) and (2) using the Listener as a calculator/scratchpad.

I therefore think there should a fairly verbose warning message
that tells them, in a non-scary way (I would not use the phrase
"undefined behaviour", for example), that they can set a global
variable to turn off the warning in the future.
