OK guys, I am exiting the stone age here and reading about "soft shackles" as I am closing in being able to actually launch.
Are these attached to the ends of the sheets? So no Ronstan or other Wichard hard stainless bits any more? I looked on line and got part of the picture, but not all of it to envision how this all hangs together, so can someone send me a link? Do the sheets include a plastic doughnut near the shackle to keep it from getting pulled thru the pole jaws? Twings to pull the guy to the widest beam, maybe? They have a machine that does it. You'll need fairly accurate measurement so the sheet wraps on the winch in the correct spot. I really like the sheets. The 1/4 inch Dyneema is very strong and light. The StaSet is easy on the hands. We do end for end gybes so the sheets are also the guys. Dennis C. I used dyneema "soft shackles" instead of regular shackles, low weight and they don't hurt you if they hit you. I sewed the soft shackles into the luggage tag type ends just so they did not get away while stored. I was very happy with the soft shackles and they never shook loose (I sail single handed and have been known to flog a spinnaker for awhile)... I used these spin sheets for everything.
