west marins has a very limited supply of things like fittings. The kit is Heat
exchanger, fresh water pump (you use the existing raw water pump for raw water)
antifreeze reservoir, brackets and the overflow tube for the reservoir. I got
the kit with 2 fresh water pumps to have a spare. So you need to pump raw water
through the exchanger and clean antifreeze through the engine. water strainers
and heater hose and clamps you are on your own for.

So the kit is a heat exchanger, water strainer, raw water pump, and hoses?
No West Marine near you?

LOL Fresh water cooling takes the sea water out of your engine by way of a heat
exchanger. the raw water runs through the heat exchanger and antifreeze runs
through the engine.

I think I saw Whale fittings at Home Depot, but I would search online.
McMaster-Carr has everything.

What is a "fresh water cooling kit"? What's it do?

My fresh water cooling kit is a bag of ice. No fittings needed.

Okay,

I need to install my fresh water cooling kit that comes with virtually no
fittings. I placed an order on the 7th and found out today they hadn't shipped
because they didn't have the 90 degree fittings i wanted... and the guy gets
all rude with me on the phone. I just cancelled the order.

My plan was to install this kit tomorrow and I'm having a hell of a time
locating barbed fittings. I'm trying to locate them locally but I'm having a
hell of a time. Can anyone in the Mass Rhode Island area give me any advice
where I might find these fittings?

This will set me back at least another week!

Danny
