That sucks!
I'd report it to my insurance company and have them send out a surveyor to
rule out structural damage.

I know South Shore had stern rails, but the shipping cost made it cheaper
to have the work done locally.  Don't know about pulpits, but I suspect the
answer is the same.

I doubt you will get much for the paint job.  The area is probably then
than 5% of the hull, so they aren't going to pay for a 100% of a paint job.
