All,
I'm planning our voyage from City Island to the C&C Rendezvous in
Mystic later this month and would appreciate any guidance regarding the two
bridges that will need to be opened. The first, as I understand it, opens at 15
minutes after the hour, but can also be called to request an opening. The
second, I believe, will open at 40 minutes after each hour, but can not be
called to open (I may have that wrong though.)
How far in advance should I hail the bridge master on Channel 13? On
that day, we'll be coming from Saybrook.
I've also heard some stories about the channel -- will stay in the
center to avoid running aground.
Any other insights / advice?
