Bob,

First, I'm amazed that Ox would still have you.  :)

As for props, my 1st choice would be Flex-O-Fold, 2nd choice Martec.  Chuck
Angle at Flex-O-Fold told me he didn't have a prop that he could recommend for
my 35-1 so I went with a Martec on Touche'.  I don't love it but I like it.
Keep in mind, my focus is minimal drag for racing and sailing, not necessarily
the best performance under power.  I motor at around 6.4 knots with a clean
bottom and flat water at cruise rpm (80% of max).  I don't have an issue with
reverse.  I guess I'm just used to the prop and know how to use it.

One thing to consider about Martecs, whether you buy new or used, is the time
between rebuilds and the overall service life of the prop.  If you don't put a
lot of hours on it, it will last many years before it needs to be rebuilt.  It
needs a rebuild when excessive wobble or slop develops in the pin in the
blades.  A rebuild from Martec is about $200.  Essentially, they overbore the
blades and hub for a larger pin.  Martec will rebuild their props twice.  So, a
Martec prop has 3 lives, the original plus two rebuilds.  After that, it's a
paperweight.

When buying a used Martec, you should verify if it's been rebuilt or if it has
excessive wobble in the pin.
