Forcasters here say that Sandy has the potential to combine with the cold front 
right now working its way through the Great Lakes
to form a hybrid nor'easter similar to the "Perfect Storm", probably less 
intense, but potentially very nasty.

She is supposed to be up this way on Monday or Tuesday...  But the models seem 
to have it landing nearer to New York and we're on
the fringe.  My boat is still on the mooring and I think she'll have to stay 
there.  I'm going to go down and pull the sails and
whatever windage I can.  I'm also considering a quick sail before all that!

I wouldn’t want to be in the Gulfstream right now. Seas are supposed to be 17 
to 20 feet off Fort Lauderdale, probably “square
waves” because the wind has a northerly component.
