Harry,Nice work! She is going to be very pretty! How do you intend on painting her? I heard of a guy over in Somerset, MA that can spray on your finish. I saw a cat boat he sprayed over at Somerset Marina about 5 years ago. He did a beautiful job. I never got his name but, you may be able to ask someone by calling Somerset Marina or Bridges Marine. I know the guy worked right up the road at a yard. I can't recall the name... Sorry to be so vague. I never thought to get the guys contact info at the time and I was only at that Marina for 1/2 a season... I think if I did as much work as you are doing now, I'd have it sprayed. It will look brand new! I must say, I'm a little envious of the amount of work you're getting done! I'd love to jump into that job on my boat too. I'm gunna piece meal it. This year I'll get the grab rails done. Last year I did the all the hardware at the bow. Of course that makes painting a job for WAY in the future. Pulling recently set hardware sounds painful, both physically and emotionally...LOL Will you reset with butyl tape? There is a great artcle on line about resetting hardware and beveling all the holes. http://www.sailnet.com/forums/gear-maintenance/63554-bedding-deck-hardware-butyl-tape.html I wish I had read this before I reset my bow hardware... There were only a handful built between 84 and 86 designed by Rob Hall. Sailboats Northeast in Marblehead, MA marketed the boats at the tail end of the IOR days. I have seen one at Block Island and know of one in NY City. Fun boat to sail…a little different than Cuckoo Voodoo!! Spot primed today with hi-build…we’re getting there! http://www.flickr.com/photos/46147579@N08/sets/72157632149487011/ Harry -----Original Message----- From: CnC-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Hoyt, Mike Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 20128:43 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Stus-List Mirage Progress Harry C&C 39 Northeast? Is that what you said? Looks very different than the C&C39 in the brochure section. Can you tell me more on the history of this model?
