A couple of years ago, I built and installed mast gates so the slugs on the mainsail will drop down to the boom rather than to a stopper above the slug opening in the mast slot. They are very much like what is described on the C&C PhotoAlbum site under DYI "Sail Gate". Makes for easier reefing and allows the main to flake over the boom in a very tidy fashion.
