It is certainly safer to epoxy in a tube because of what we don't know.  I
need to wait for warmer weather so the epoxy cures in a reasonable time.

starboard side that has the limber hole from the factory is the same as the
one without on the port side.  It may be that the area inside the starboard
stringer is small and there isn't a lot of room to hold water.  When I
drilled a hole in the port one, I could stick a coat hanger in there and
was amazed at how big the space under there appeared to be.  I also don't
have any idea what the construction of the boat is like under there.  Is it
wood and glass?  Does it go to the keel?  I don't know and couldn't tell.
This was the reason we decided to epoxy in the tube to ensure the water
from the small space to the left of the mast would drain through the tube
into the next void that has a drain into the bilge sump.
