For security reasons, I wired the switch in series with a keyed switch 
that's down below in a 'super-secret-eyes-only' location, that a thief 
would not find because a thief who wants to steal my boat would have to 
be an idiot and would probably be very confused when the boat didn't 
start the first time and thus cut his losses, and just steal my jerry 
cans of diesel or my outboard or just p__ on my favorite cockpit seat 
and leave.

It's a diesel switch.  On/Off.

Honestly, I have only cruised Pacific Mexico and have never felt the 
need to use my super-secret-Captain-Crunch-Encoder-Ring switch.  I test 
it every now and then, but these are very nice people here, and a little 
respect and consideration goes a long way.

Unfortunately, when I repowered I gave my entire Perkins panel away to 
the new lucky purchaser of my old engine, and then was unable to find 
the aforementioned switch anywhere, although I *really* wanted one for 
my new panel.  The Cole-Hersee site was not nearly as comprehensive as 
it is today.  (If anyone wants to bring one of those switches down here, 
I'll pay for a taco dinner.  Don't laugh until you've had a really good 
taco, made from a boiled and fried cow's head, with some udder and 
eyeballs chopped in. Don't laugh until you've tried it.)
