Shop around and check pricing; if you'd like to order through me, please et me know. I ONLY provide this service as a courtesy to C&C List members, not s a business concern (as I don't make any $$$ at it?). With those two items and the previously-mentioned Octopus linear hydraulic drive t $1580, you'd be looking at about $3930 plus shipping and installation for a ick-@$$ autopilot system well-suited to the LF39. How much of this will you be doing yourself? Fred Street -- Minneapolis /V Oceanis (1979 C&C Landfall 38) -- on the hard in Bayfield, WI :^( i Fred and fellow Listers My name is Joseph and I am a newbie on Stu's List. purchased my 1975 C&C 35 MK II last August and ran her aground on October 7th n the evening of the first day of what was supposed to be a journey to the aribbean and eventually ending in Vancouver. ne of the factors that led to my grounding (there where several) was that I did ot have a working autopilot and was single-handed. So on my list of upgrades for Silent Runner is an autopilot and wondered if the ystem you recommended to Lloyd in your recent post would be suitable for the 5-2? Also my research has led me to believe that an autopilot coupled with a ind-vane steering system is the way to go if you are planning to go offshore. understand that the wind vane system does the bulk of the steering (it is uiet and does not consume electricity) and the autopilot is reserved for alm/motoring conditions. Does anyone on the list have such a dual system on their boat? Two wind-vane systems that are of interest to me are: 1) Cape Horn Integrated elf Steering http://www.capehorn.com/index.html 2) Norvane Self Steering Windvane http://www.selfsteering.com nyone have experiences (good or bad) with either of these systems (or any ystem for that matter) coupled with an autopilot?
