I'm not doing AGM again. My gels lasted at least twice as long and the price is within 5%.

A friend with an RV (similar use to a boat, but somewhat different) swears by the Costco deep cycle batteries; they are reasonably priced, have a decent warranty and last fairly long (in his case about 5 years of RV use). This may not apply, but I would steer away from any Canadian Tire batteries, especially the deep cycle and marine type. The one I had lasted 13 months (just beyond the free replacement) and it was prorated, so I spent almost the same on the new (replacement) as I would for a new one at Costco.
