Keep in mind that the rudder extends beyond the stern of the boat, so backing 
into a slip puts you at risk of damage to the rudder if you get too far back 
and since the rudder is under the water surface, it's not as easy to see as the 
stern of the boat.
BTW, my 30 has the offset shaft as well.
