Agree, the AC racing is really interesting. So many different elements compared to conventional racing - the foiling and amazing speeds, the short races (partly due to speed), the hi tech boats. The fact that the wind is forward even on downwind legs because of the boat speeds.
But since when is the Emirates turn down legal? Under normal racing rules they failed to sail their proper course. But the race committee allowed it and the TV announcers seemed to have no problem with it (although they talked about it enough ...) Americas Cup rule???? Match racing rule??? The Plusses still outweigh the negatives. Better camera work on the boats, on the water and from helicopters Better TV coverage, on at a reasonable hour Better commentating, more knowledgable sailors instead of talking heads Better graphics to show boat name, speed, etc. Longer series, with many more races .
