I'm just saying that 40 minutes for a sailboat race is a pretty short limit. (Did guys have somewhere else they had to be? Was it getting dark?)
Boats need to be able to race in a variety of conditions, and even though winds were light, the boats were still sailing in the high teens so it was hardly a drifter.
