When we broke the aluminum gooseneck on my 38 in an accidental gybe a few
years ago I took the pieces to a local metal fab shop. He made a replacement
out of stainless for around $100-125. My damage was that one of the ears
sheared off on the part of the gooseneck attached to the mast; so he only
had to make that portion, not the portion on the end of the boom.
