I should note that these pumps simply require inserting the hose in the dipstick tube, pumping up a vacuum which only takes a few strokes, and simply let it do its job. It generally takes about 5 minutes to suck all 6 litres out of the sump of my Yanmar 3QM. The last litre is in the engine and oil filter.Best pump I've ever used.
