Andy,
I have 2 Caframo Ultimate fans with 12 volt lighter plugs. I replaced the
standard base with Caframo's clip on base. I have 12 volt receptacles
installed in strategic points the main cabin and V-berth. This allows us to
place the fans where we want when we want them. More importantly, they are
stowed out of sight when we don't need them. We can even use them in the
cockpit since there is a receptacle near the helm station.
The current draw doesn't seem to have much affect on battery capacity when
running them both through the night. They're fairly quiet also.
