Hi folks,

While my boat will be on the hard for a few weeks I'm thinking about adding
an inexpensive (but HD) skimmer (Retractable / removable) transom mount
sonar transducer.
The idea behind the skimmer is that 1) it's 1/3 the price, 2) No through
hull required 3) We can fabricate a bracket that would make it
retractable / removable when I'm not using it

Why Sonar? Because our lake is notorious for eating anchors, my
chartplotter has it all built-in, and adding this transducer is simple plug
and play:

At 238.00 this transducer is cheaper than replacing my pricey Delta anchor
once.

I almost lost the anchor last year, I had to use the Spinnaker winch to
pull it up and half a tree emerged along with the anchor, good thing the
tree was rotted enough to break. From what I'm told I got lucky.

Is there any reason I would not want to rig this on my stern somehow?

Thanks in advance,
