My pre-feeder is attached to a padeye, at the base of the forestay, with a piece of line. Once the jib is hoisted, it drops off the luff to the deck. You don't want the pre-feeder attached once the job is hoisted, or it would jam when you try to lower the jib. If your luff rope goes all the way to the tack, you might ask your sailmaker to hot knife off a section to accommodate the pre-feeder.
Alan Bergen 35 Mk III Thirsty Rose City YC Portland, OR All, I was thinking of mounting a jib pre-feeder on the foil for the furler, but i'm concerned about the sail chafing when the jib is partially furled. Should I just tie it to the chainplate so it is out of the way (but under foot) when the sail is up, or attach it to the foil. I have both dacron and Kevlar jibs. -- Joel 35/3 Annapolis 301 541 8551 _______________________________________________ CnC-List mailing list [email protected] http://cnc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/cnc-list_cnc-list.com
