I saw the bit about the Software company, I would think that if he was so successful you'd see more about the business and how great he was (Is? ) at running it in his bio . He was also running his business in pretty lean years from an IT business standpoint unless he started in his early 20's and benefited from the boom IT market between 1996 and 2000..
Also consider that he bought the boat in 2008 (he was 29 at the time), where the boat was 6 years newer and in a pre-recession market.. More than likely closer to the 500-700K mark than what it is in today's depressed market. I suspect he had some kind of "In" on that boat.. Regardless, I'm with you on the video's and the whole thing. If you can do it in your 20's or 30's there's no better time in your life to really enjoy an adventure like that. What a tremendous life experience and how cool to do it in such a regal way.. We're not talking some solo guy roughing it on a rickety 28 footer. The girls are total babes, the boat is fabulous, everyone's single, partying, and generally having a blast. Heck, they even make their own booze with no worries about the Feds coming down and hauling everything away.. Although I'm sure they run into to occasional scary storm, boat issue, and other un-pleasant episode, I'd say if you want to live it up on a sailboat cruising the globe, that's about as good as it gets -Francois 1990 C&C 34+ "Take Five" Lake Lanier, Georgia
