I was all set to upgrade to 2" because Yanmar says so...my mechanic pointed out that the engine is at the very bottom of the recommendation chart, which goes up to something like 75 hp for the same size exhaust hose. He said not to bother. Of course, now I have 10' of 2" exhaust hose, a 2" Centek muffler, and a stainless 2" through-hull sitting in my shop looking dejected.
