My LF38 is a 1983 vintage but my original dorade boxes were fastened just like Fred's. About 10 years ago I made custom dorade boxes from StarBoard and switched to larger stainless steel dorade vents--I eliminated the teak maintenance, kept the original appearance of the dorade boxes, and improved ventilation. I was a great upgrade all around!
