Well, you can set up your email system so you don't get them on your telephone. Call me a Luddite, but I think telephones are for talking and computers are for email.
On a computer, you can delete emails en-mass. I actually don't think there are that many emails. Sometimes a thread goes viral, but then you can sort by subject and move on.
