I have had the boat running for a while and moved from my old slip to my new one, but my first trip out of the marina was Friday heading up the river to the yacht club to be RC for a Comet/Laser race. Nothing like leaving at 2100 Friday and hoping everything works. I got in at exactly midnight and then spent 15 minutes untangling the mooring pennant from the chain and getting algae all over me and the foredeck. I really need a new system for the mooring that doesn’t turn into a toxic waste experiment. I am on “special duty” at work the first half of June and can’t go far from home, so there goes 2 weeks of sailing right at the start of summer ☹

We had a great practice sail on Saturday ahead of the season-opening Wednesday race this week. 15 knots to tune the rig on several tacks upwind and 8 gybes off the wind to remember what goes where. The new winches are working out well (to replace the Barient 28's, which have been serviced and now need a new home...).
