I have had the boat running for a while and moved from my old slip to my new
one, but my first trip out of the marina was Friday heading up the river to the
yacht club to be RC for a Comet/Laser race. Nothing like leaving at 2100 Friday
and hoping everything works. I got in at exactly midnight and then spent 15
minutes untangling the mooring pennant from the chain and getting algae all
over me and the foredeck. I really need a new system for the mooring that
doesn’t turn into a toxic waste experiment. I am on “special duty” at work the
first half of June and can’t go far from home, so there goes 2 weeks of sailing
right at the start of summer ☹

Subject: Re: Stus-List The Season Has Finally Begun!

We had a great practice sail on Saturday ahead of the season-opening Wednesday
race this week. 15 knots to tune the rig on several tacks upwind and 8 gybes
off the wind to remember what goes where. The new winches are working out well
(to replace the Barient 28's, which have been serviced and now need a new
home...).

Liberty went in on Wednesday of last week everything was good. I
replaced the mixing elbow on or Yanmar 3gm30 and that worked good added a new
battery bent the main on and everything still good. Went to start the engine
on Saturday and poof! bad starter solenoid grrrrr! stuck at the dock oh well
still lots of cleaning to do, starter will be rebuilt and should be done in a
few days..........Sometimes the best laid plans !!!
