Sailing the Chesapeake bay bucket list item: Check!
We were on a family vacation at the Jersey shore and met up with Chuck
Scheaffer. When Chuck offered a ride on Resolute which is now berthed on a
river off the Chesapeake we jumped at the opportunity. It was a chance to
hang out with Chuck, sail on his boat, the family was excited about the
ride, plus I had been wanting to sail the Chesapeake for decades...
It's really all it's cracked-up to be. Gorgeous scenery, smooth water,
Annapolis, and access to the ocean / ICW. We had strong 12-17+ knots winds
and sunny / mild temps. It could not have been better. What a fantastic
day.
Resolute as a well outfitted speed machine.. It was a blast to sail around.
Big thanks to Chuck: He was the most gracious host and the whole family
loved it. I'll have to find more excuses to to back to the DC area and do
this again :-)
