I think it's great we are already looking to 2015! I've been in and out of Milford many times and don't recall anything close to 5 ft in the channel. I only draw 5 so I'm not bothered unless it goes below 7.
Active captain review says 8 ft at low tide on Milford Landing approach, some slips are 5 ft and to check with management. If Clinton or Milford don't work I would also suggest Greenport NY - Mitchell Park Marina - Great spot with loads of bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. Cheap slips off season (floating, concrete, inside a breakwater)!
