This is what I'm planning on doing for cockpit speakers:

No cutting fiberglass, no disintegrating cones. No waterproofing issues It
drives the surface it's mounted on as a cone. Look it up in Youtube
there's a guy whom installed them in his cockpit and it seems to work
really well.
