Do you have a close up photo of your masthead?

This is how the masthead looks on our 1990 C&C 37/40 XL, original spar but
built by "Offshore Spars"  Yes, it could use a paint job.

You can see in the photo linked above the red portside spinnaker halyard is
protected from chafe by the large rod out board and the smaller bar and
large smooth cover over the top of the headstay rod inboard.  The starboard
halyard is the same.

You can't see the other two headsail halyards (centre and starboard) in
this photo as they have been removed for winter storage. There are thin
white line in their place for re-reeving them in the spring.
