I’ve been pondering the same thing with my new distribution panel backing 
board. Right now it is patterned off the original which was simply screwed in 
place and each distribution panel had to be unscrewed and pulled out to access 
the wiring.

Over the years (yes, that long….) I’ve considered using a piano hinge and 
captive fasteners to be able to fold the distribution panels down for easier 
access.

I’ve been semi-looking at some of the stuff

right for me.
