Listers,

I already voted for list over forum, but I'd like to include some additional
reasoning.

1. I, like some others, are 100% Apple (Mac Pro at work, MacBook Pro on the
road, iMac at home, iPhone 6 and iPad Air.) All the email clients have ways of
grouping conversations so I can pay attention to the topics that interest me or
I can comment on- and ignore the others. I have an IMAP email account so
everything is updated everywhere.

2. As for images and documents, I have a public Dropbox folder and will just
include a link. This keeps people (and the list) from having to deal with
attachments.

3. Email always comes in. No effort on my part. And it will come in on cell
phone service. And it will be readable on whatever screen I'm using. A forum
would need to be very lightweight and responsive to keep up with the last two.
If I need to launch a web browser, go to a URL, log in and then search for
what's going on, I would be less interested and then less involved.

4. A big no to Facebook. I tried Facebook for a month and then dropped it.
There's a reason why I lost touch with all those people from high school.

5. Someone said "if it's not broke, then why fix it?" I submit that it's not
only not broke but works phenomenally well. This list has, for me, increased
the value of my C&C at warp speeds (that one's for you, Josh). Aside from the
wealth of knowledge (as David Knecht pointed out) there is a camaraderie here
that I value beyond words - and some of these listers have become friends. I
seriously look forward to each "local" rendezvous and connecting with others
farther away.

So yes. List. List. List.

Forums may be more robust, but also require bigger effort and usually more
bandwidth. Simplest is best and I wouldn't want to see this change ever.

Hailing frequencies are open. On screen.

All the best,

Edd
